The "Beauty" manga delves into Belle's deepest thoughts as she's taken prisoner by the Beast in his majestic castle. Where the "Beast" manga explores Beast's deepest thoughts as he captures Belle in his castle and finds himself falling in love with her feisty attitude and adventurous spirit.

Stavo tranquillamente guardando le email quando a un tratto mi capita la solita newsletter NetGalley con le novità manga/comics. A volte evito di guardare per non cadere in tentazione ma a volte ci ricasco ed eccoli lì! Due volumi manga del remake Disney La Bella e la Bestia, che faccio? non li richiedo? Certo che no. E tempo di connettermi e scaricarli, eccomi alle prese con la lettura sul PC.

La storia è identica a quella del film, la disegnatrice l'ha riprodotta fedelmente ma ha anche aggiunto dei retroscena a seconda del punto di vista trattato. Ovviamente per il volume dedicato a Belle è stato approfondito un pochino di più il suo personaggio e notiamo sprazzi della sua infanzia e i suoi pensieri più profondi. Per Adam/La Bestia è stato lo stesso ma ho trovato il suo punto di vista più interessante forse perché non si va a parlare molto di lui nelle altre trasposizioni e del perché si comporti così freddamente. Eppure ho trovato molto dolce i suoi pensieri per Belle che cambiavano pagina dopo pagina e il suo cuore che si scioglieva con la presenza della ragazza. 

Il fatto che non ho dato punteggio pieno è perché per quanto i disegni mi siano piaciuti, com'è stato fatto Gaston non mi ha per niente convinto. Sembra un lontano parente di Zenigata di Lupin con i capelli alla Elvis Presley ed è tutto dire. Poi, non so, manca qualche approfondimento per Belle che sinceramente non avrebbe guastato.
